New Features
The Orbitrap Tribrid MS Series instrument control software version 3.4 incorporates the following new and improved features:
- (Orbitrap Eclipse only) Support for Real-Time Search with multiple FAIMS CVs, neutral loss option, 'closeout' option, and FDR-based filtering
- (Orbitrap Eclipse only) Support for PTCR with tMS3 experiments
- RunStart EASY-IC mass calibration performs internal mass correction for each selected run without having to perform EASY-IC per individual spectrum
- Time dependent gas mode provides flexibility for gas settings during the method
- Isotope exclusion filter permits isotope exclusion without having to use the dynamic exclusion filter
- 'Block Trigger' option lets the user prevent dependent scans from triggering when specific ions or ion patterns are detected (that is, opposite of standard trigger function)
- Full MS microscans are acquired in parallel during method runs
- Stepped collision energy parameter allows 2 to 5 collision energy levels for HCD instead of requiring 3
- Dynamic Exclusion filter supports use of a shared exclusion list that can reduce redundant triggering between experiments (that is, in the case of a FAIMS multi-CV method)
- MIPS filter can be placed selectively per outcome, when multiple dependent scans are present
- (Intact Protein mode only) Automatic adjustment of the dynamic exclusion tolerances based upon whether the precursor ion was annotated with the low resolution and high resolution APD algorithm
- Usability enhancements:
- Support for auto-calibration including a new 'Check, calibrate if required' mode, which automates the expert user behavior for quickly checking calibrations and calibrating only those items needed, which are based on the time passed since the previous calibration or Pass/Fail status.
- Support for iAPI agreement and license access directly through the Tune application interface
- Support for automated service team notification from Almanac, when acute system issues occur
- Support for corrective action notifications from Almanac
- Support for web-based method template updates
- Improved default settings for small molecule application mode
Known Issues
- When using Windows 10, the View Raw File button does not open the raw file properly, nor can you double-click the raw file to open it.
- Instead, navigate to the raw file, right-click it, and browse to the appropriate application (FreeStyle) to open the file. Select the checkbox to always open a raw file with the selected application, which then becomes the default. (Reported in Release Notes 3.0 and 3.1)
